Tatum's Picks

Let me help take some of the headache out of trying to shop for your beauty essentials. This is where I will post up all my favorite tried and true products and tools with short descriptions of why and who I love it for.  Xoxo.

T3 LUXE 2i HAIR DRYER

Why I Love It: We do the most damage to our hair at home, so investing in some quality tools is key. This blow dryer is lightweight so it won't break your arm. The Tormaline and soft air technology reduces frizz and keeps a healthy shine to your hair. It has 3 heat settings and 2 speeds. Also, the sleek design looks pretty on your vanity.

Tip: Turn down the heat! I always check for a dryer that has multiple heat settings and speeds so you're not blasting the highest heat on your hair. Try to use the high or middle heat setting while you rough dry, get it 80% dry, and then use your brush. Once you are round brushing, turn the heat down to the middle or lowest.

Who It's Great For: Everyone

GHD Curve 1.25" Soft Curl Iron

Why I Love It: This barrel glides through your hair like butter. It creates smooth, long lasting curls. The ceramic barrel guarantees a temperature of 365 consistently through the barrel so you don’t get hot spots in the iron.

Tip: Always use a heat protectant before applying heat. The 1.25” barrel is great for mid chest and longer. Creates voluminous waves and soft curls.

Who It's Great For: Medium-Course hair. Stubborn hair that doesn’t hold curl.

Sheila Stotts Application Brushes

Why I Love It: Anti-static detangling brush. It won't snag or rip on your extensions and it's great for brushing your scalp.

Tip: Keep one on-the-go to keep extensions from looking tangly throughout the day.

Who It's Great For: Extensions

Ultra Absorbent & Fast Drying Microfiber Towel for Longer Hair

Why I Love It: Wet hair is up to 57% weaker than dry hair. A normal bath towel fibers can rough up the cuticle and get too heavy that they start to pull on your fragile hair. The Aquis towel is lightweight, the smooth microfiber fabric doesn’t rip and pull at the cuticle, and the towel absorbs up to 50% more water so your drying is cut down. All this equals to less heat damage and shinier less frizzy hair.

Tip: I love to put my leave in conditioner and an air dry spray through my locks, scrunch up my hair, and do a turban wrap with this towel to absorb out the extra moisture and hold my waves. After I put my make-up on, I let my hair down, fix my part, and let it air dry the rest of the way. *Don’t brush or comb through after these steps, it will loosen up the wave* This creates the easiest beach waves with no heat.

Who It's Great For: Everyone. They make towels in different sizes for different hair lengths.

Tangle Teezer Salon Elite Hair Brush

Why I Love It: Best and easiest de-tangling brush I have ever used. It doesn’t snap our fragile hairs and cuts down the brushing time on even the most tangled hair.

Tip: It’s waterproof, so get one for the shower and when you and put your conditioner or deep conditioner in, use this brush to make sure the product is fully saturated and your hair will rinse out silky smooth. This is especially a great trick if you have extensions—so you're not trying to untangle them after towel drying.

Who It's Great For: EVERYONE. Extensions, kids, adults, long and short hair.

GHD Curve 1" Classic Curl Iron

Why I Love It: This barrel glides through your hair like butter. It creates smooth, long lasting curls. The ceramic barrel guarantees a temperature of 365 consistently through the barrel so you don’t get hot spots in the iron.

Tip: Always use a heat protectant before applying heat. The 1” barrel is great for hair that is chin-mid chest. Great for creating beachy waves.

Who It's Great For: Medium-Course hair. Stubborn hair that doesn’t hold curl.

Hair Works 4-in-1 Hair Extension Holder & Style Caddy

Why I Love It: Washing clip-in extensions is not that hard. But trying to brush and blow dry them—I always needed another pair of hands. This handy holder suction’s to a flat surface and will hold the extensions in place for you. I can blow dry and detangle extensions twice as fast. I don’t know how I lived without this!

Tip: Spray all of the hair after washing with a leave-in conditioner then place one weft in, brush the tangles out, and then place the next weft on top and detangle. Once all of the wefts are all brushed through then you can start to blow dry.
